Sacred Sunday – Space Harmony – A Festival “Appetizer” with Marylee Hardenbergh
July 16 @ 7:30 pm – 8:30 pm UTC+0
The Sacred Dance Guild continues to host “Sacred Sundays”, online gatherings to be “Socially Present” while “Physically Distant” because we can – no longer because we must! These live from our living room sessions, started at the beginning of the pandemic, are free, informal, intimate and interactive and are open to ALL!
To register for this session send an email to firstname.lastname@example.org with “Sacred Sunday – Harmony” in the subject line.
On Sunday, July 16th, we will be exploring “Space Harmony” with the creative genius of Marylee Hardenbergh! For those who will be joining us – or are thinking to register to join us! – at the “mini” Festival July 27-30 – this will be a small “taste” of the exploration that we will dance into for 3 deeply nourishing days. For those who are NOT able to be with us in person in July, this will be a lovely “appetizer” to nourish you wherever your journey may take you!
Marylee has been creating site-specific dances for over 30 years in such places as a sewage treatment plant, an Aerial Lift bridge, on skyscrapers, on cherry pickers at a Farmers Market, on a bombed-out Parliament Building in Sarajevo, Bosnia, on a clock tower on the Volga in Russia, on a Mediterranean beach in Israel with a Palestinian community, and on oyster harvesting boats on the Housatonic River. She has worked with community and trained dancers all over the globe, and have turned Bobcat loaders, fire trucks, Coast Guard and US Army Corps boats into dancers! We’ll be excited to see what additional “dancers” arrive at this Sacred Dance Guild 65th Anniversary Celebration as we explore the spaces, the places and the portals both internally and externally at the awesome campus of Connecticut College and the amazing Jacob’s Pillow! Note: this photo is showing in the recent article/interview with Marylee in the SDG On Line Journal. Check it out!
The Sacred Dance Guild is blessed to have Marylee gifting her presence with us leading this Sacred Sunday session. We are grateful for those who lead us on these journeys of discovery as we dance on waves of grace together.
