Sacred Sunday “Dance into Divinity” with Charanya Gurusathya from India

Our Sacred Sundays have moved from weekly to monthly – meeting virtually because we CAN not because we MUST and engaging our Global Community! Generally they are 2nd Sunday at 7:30 pm EDT… however this Sunday is form India – so we’ll be at 7:00 pm Indian time – 9:30 am EDT! Come for Sunday morning divine time through Sacred Dance!

October 22 is a special celebration – Durga Ashtami or Maha Ashtami is the eighth day of the Navratri festival celebrated by Hindus for worshipping Goddess Durga. In Eastern India, Durga Ashatmi is also one of the most auspicious days of the five days long Durga Puja Festival celebrated in the honor of Mother Goddess Durga.

We are grateful to have Charanya Gurusathya, the Artistic Director of Natyashala Academy of Fine Arts, a member of International Dance Council presenting Bharatanatyam ( Indian Classical Dance) from her home in India – on this very special celebration day! Charanya will share clips of work she and her senior students are doing and will lead us through some of the special mudras and movements from her tradition.
