Easter Vigil – Valley of the Dry Bones – St. John the Divine
March 30, 2024 @ 7:30 pm – 8:30 pm
Piece Description
Saturday, March 30th at 7:30PM St. John the Divine, Easter Vigil
“A Valley of Dry Bones”
SDG Member Mariko Endo will dance an original solo to Ken Tritle conducting Oliver Messiaen’s O Sacrum Convivium, with reading Ezekiel 37: 1-4 as part of St. John the Divine’s Easter Vigil. Mariko says “This offering will see the vision of the “valley of dry bones” in our world where human dignity is not valued, absolute hopelessness. The most important message in Ezekiel, I believe, is that “Breathe the breath of God”. Make conscious choice to be reborn into the profound reality of God… I feel urgent to deliver this message.”
This service will be live streamed – you can watch at Home – Cathedral of Saint John the Divine (stjohndivine.org) or on Youtube at https://m.youtube.com/channel/UCMkEmTeCUErK3y2cwftQCDg
