Last year we started a monthly Film Fest gathering as part of our Sacred Sunday program on the first Sunday of each month. This could be a full length performance, a collection of small video clips or just about anything that is related to “sacred dance” with the intention to join together in community to watch something and then have time to chat in small groups! The Sacred Dance Guild is focusing on Dance as a “Healing” art during the month of November and we are delighted to have Judith Rose and Igor S. presenting their film “Wisteria – A Dance Requiem for our Time.” to start us off.
Birthed during the pandemic, “Wisteria” offers a rare, unsparing, and unspoken look at love and loss through the prism of one man and one woman in an unspecified relationship. Using dance as its medium, the particular is made universal, and the time-bound, timeless. We will watch this 7 minute film together after which Judith and Igor will lead us through learning one of the choreographic sequences from the piece so we each can embody the experience personally in a collective community. We will then open the floor for a dancing dialogue where we can share our responses, ideas, thoughts and questions.

Judith’s classes and workshops are dedicated towards guiding others towards the richest development of their potential as they stretch toward the sacred. Her work is deeply grounded in the belief that the arts provide a medium for personal and communal healing and transformation.
