Sacred Sundays- "Film Fest" Sharing - TESSEL & a few others!
Date: July 11, 2021-
Location: On Line - 7:30 EDT (check local times)

Beginning on Sunday, October 4th, 2020 our Sacred Sundays have been some kind of “Film Fest”!  This could be a full length performance, a collection of small video clips or just about anything that is related to “sacred dance”.  The idea is to come together in community to watch something and then have time to chat in small groups!

This Sunday, July 11th will be our FINAL Sacred Sunday until September 5th!!  We discovered this amazing video and would love to share this with YOU.  TESSEL is a national initiative conceptualized by Dora-nominated choreographer and dancemaker Esie Mensah (Shades, A Revolution of Love), featuring the stories of 14 pioneering Black artists from across Canada, exploring the complexities of diverse movement and voice as a form of resilience. This video was premiered across the country (of CANADA) on the one-year anniversary of Blackout Tuesday (June 1) – a day when organizations worldwide publicly expressed their commitment towards institutional change to support the black community.

It is only available to Canadian audiences on line so we’ll access and share with those who join us live from my living room here in Ottawa Canada (Wendy’s!!)   This video is about 16 minutes so we do have a few others that have been sent on to us that we’ll share as well!  Of course – if any of you have something you’d like to share – either in video form or in person – we’re open to that as well!

REGISTER by sending an email to pres@sacreddanceguild.org with JULY 2021 SHARING in the title.

Front row seats for all!  Grab a drink and snacks and join Mary Kamp and Wendy Morrell who will facilitate this “Film Festival” evening!
