On November 29th, we are blessed to have Dr. Hennie Fitzpatrick leading us through dance as a healing art.   Dance Heals and the world needs Healing!!  Those of us who dance know this from inside but I imagine no one’s MD has ever mentioned dance as a way to improve immunity, lower inflammation, and decrease foggy brains   Hennie will share why she actually prescribes dance and then we will all dance different ways to illustrate how dance can be a tool.   Hennie wants to help us understand the tool dance is and suggest that we take part by getting others around us who are suffering from any chronic illness to dance.   Hennie will give us her take on why the vocabulary of dance can be better than words!

Dr. Fitzpatrick was born in Baltimore in 1955 and has 5 fabulous children, 3 daughters and 2 sons. She balances her professional life with as much wildness (instinctual, intuitive feeling activity) as she can fit in. This includes African dance, running, swimming, bicycling, making art and performing in the annual woman’s circus (yup she’s a real clown!!).  She is a practicing Tibetan Buddhist and has a deep love for mother earth and Native American theology as well. She has a strong interest in treating adolescents and children and empowering them to take care of their health from an early age. She has 20 years of experience teaching sensuality and sexuality to teenagers and conducting rites of passage for teens. As a pioneer of Biological Medicine in this country her mission is to educate everyone to understand the innate wisdom that resides within each of our magnificent beings so we can all be healthy and happy.  Dr. Fitzpatrick’s Integrated Health Medical Center offers tremendous expertise and assistance to the person who is willing to take responsibility for his or her health and also participates fully in the detective work necessary to discover where and when problems began or where the vulnerabilities lie that could produce problems in the future.

Hennie suggests that you bring something to make some rhythm with – two wooden dowels, outdoor sticks, maybe 2 spoons??  Also – if you feel inclined to add a funky/funny hat, bright scarf to your wardrobe that would add to the atmosphere!

The Sacred Dance Guild is blessed to have Hennie gifting her presence with us leading this Sacred Sunday session.  During this time when our lives have changed in ways we couldn’t have imagined, continuing our personal, collective and global mind/body/spirit connection is so important.  We are grateful for those who lead us on these journeys of discovery as we dance on waves of grace together.  We will be using ZOOM for Sunday’s sessions.  It is a simple and accessible program with no cost to participants. It can be used on a desktop, laptop, tablet or even cell phone. If you have not used ZOOM before join in a few minutes before 7:30 pm for a quick download prior to accessing the session. Using ZOOM you can hear/see the facilitators and choose whether others can SEE and HEAR you by turning OFF and ON your audio and video.
