This is our fourth in our “We’re Dancing” series that will take place on the last Sunday of each month until June 2017. Each month is led by a different facilitator as we explore the statement
“Dance as an expression of the sacred moves in and through me as….”
Catherine Gee, will introduce us to Social Presencing Theatre (SPT): a practice of developing embodied presence. SPT invites the wisdom of the body to lead our playful exploration of movement and stillness, cultivating mindfulness, connection to others as well as the social field. SPT is an emerging art form that explores the creative potential of the individual and community. In this form, the word, theater, can be defined as a “place of enactment of significant events or actions.” Social Presencing Theater emerges from the community to enable that community to collectively see itself and enact it’s emerging future. It is a powerful tool for personal and social change. Catherine has facilitated u.Lab/SPT sessions locally and globally for the past 3 years. She is inspired to share and hold space for cultivating awareness, empowering creative confidence, and attuning connection of mind-body-heart.
