April 30 – Session # 6 - This month come out and learn some contemporary circle dances to traditional native songs. We will gather in a circle, opening with a smudge ceremony, and sing as we dance. The dances for the most part are simple and meditative, and help us to connect within. No previous singing or dance experience is needed. All songs and dances will be taught. No drums or musical instruments are needed either. Just come and have some fun! If there’s time for a sharing circle you may wish to bring a cushion or blanket to sit on. Heather Wiggs has been exploring different forms of dance for many years. She is a traditional singer and has been looking after a women’s native hand drum circle for 15 years. Heather is Métis. She can be contacted at firstname.lastname@example.org.
Also note – if you have a sensitivity – that the evening will include smudging
