Embodied Bellydancetm for Every Woman

Embodied BellydanceTM with Maria Sangiorgi.

You do not need to be a bellydancer to enjoy this one day workshop of Embodied Bellydance®.  Everywoman who attends will find something unique for themselves. There will be something that touches you, something that will remind you of who you are, individually and collectively as woman carrying the feminine force.

We will move through essential elements of this ancient dance that are primordial and essentially in all of us. Acknowledging your watery existence. Working with breath and sound, creative anatomy, visualisation and mindfullness, you will go on a journey that will heighten your body wisdom. Masculine,Yang movements for grounding and direction, supported by the Feminine Yin, fluid and strong subtle movements. Together they create the whole, weaving a tapestry or circular, spiralling movements, supported by the music, that speak to life and the universe.

There will be no choreography or expectations beyond your own personal ability.  What you receive from this workshop is totally up to you.

All women welcome. Any bellydancers attending will gain extra knowledge and skill that will support their personal practice and enhance their teaching skills.

Join me and my lovely host and dear friend Maryke who will feed us lunch with soul food from her abundant garden, prepared with loving care.

Lunch included: prepared from fresh wholesome produce, vegetarian based, there will be a choice of  beverages…snacks and a delicious desert all prepared by your host Maryke Boermans

What to bring:

  • Yoga mat and rug
  • Extra food that you may need
  • Sacred object – anything that has meaning to you eg. feather, statue, photo, stone, grain of sand, jewellery, your car keys, a book . . . Are some examples. Totally up to your, as you chose ask the significance it has for you on the day, bring this with you and let it weave into your intention and commitment to participate

What to wear:

  • Your version of Feminine power clothing, appropriate for moving and doing floor work
  • Leggings under skirt
  • Bare feet
